Founded in the summer of 2004, Fisher Board Fellows (FBF) is a student-run organization at the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. FBF brings together the Columbus community and the College by selecting Fisher MBA candidates and placing them on boards of area non-profits as non-voting member for eighteen month terms. Fellows, mentored by a board member and with the full support of the non-profit executive director and board chair, contribute to their non-profit organizations by attending all board and assigned committee meetings. In addition, Fellows complete a strategic, board-level project that harnesses the Fellow's business expertise and adds long-term value to the partner organization. FBF develops relationships that are beneficial to all parties. Fellows gain valuable experience working with non-profits and senior business leaders. Boards receive new perspectives from experienced professionals and educated analysis on topics integral to the success of their organizations. For additional details, see the FBF Organization Overview. Fisher Board Fellows serve area non-profits such as:
FBF is always interested in developing new partnerships. If you are interested in hosting a Fellow on the board of your non-profit organization, email us at fbf@cob.osu.edu. The search for potential Fellows is a highly selective process. We are looking for MBA candidates who are experienced, excel academically, have enthusiasm, and commitment to work with FBF’s non-profit partners. All students who are interested in becoming a Fellow must apply to the FBF Executive Committee. The process includes a written application, an interview, payment of dues, and finally the matching of the applicant with a non-profit. During the process, applicants are evaluated on their enthusiasm, trustworthiness, professionalism, and experience. Applications
are accepted during the fall quarter as outlined in the typical schedule
seen on the FBF
Organization Overview. The application process for the Fall
2008 quarter will open October 1st. Applications will be available for
download on this Web site on that date. A list of important Fall 2008 dates can be found by clicking here. For additional information about Fisher Board Fellows, please read the FBF Organization Overview or our latest FBF Newsletter. You may also see what others are saying about FBF. |
